Firstly, you need to properly target the keywords that your target audience is actively searching for. You can use the Google Keyword Tool to do this, which is free. When you learn to properly target keywords that your target market is searching for, you will slowly start developing a constant flow of targeted traffic to your posts. This type of traffic is going to be much more useful to you because it is targeted. They will be far more likely to subscribe to your newsletter, purchase anything through your affiliate links, or perform any other action that you are looking to get out of your visitors.

Cornerstone Content

The basic functionality of how blogs work means that it is really hard to show your old content. Sometimes, your older content is some of your best. We don’t want our visitors to miss our best content, so we use cornerstone content to ensure they see it. Cornerstone content is essentially where you pull all of your best blog posts and content together, into one specific place.  You just create a landing page and it will host all of your greatest content. You can also use this technique to increase the likelihood of you ranking for competitive keywords. Google likes cornerstone content a lot, and they are likely to rank a landing page that has a lot of blog posts together, on one specific topic.

Interlinking Your Posts

When we interlink our posts, we are ensuring that whenever we write a new blog post, we link it back to previous blog posts that we have written. This has two benefits. Firstly, you will send link juice and anchor text links through to your previous blog posts, Google generally reward sites better if they are interlinked correctly. Secondly, you will provide your visitors with a constant flow of new content to read through. This increases the time your visitors spend on your site.
